Project Description:
This academic project, conducted at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IOE, TU, focused on the design and analysis of a Pelton bucket, a crucial component of a Pelton turbine. The primary objective was to gain proficiency in turbine design and analysis, specifically focusing on Pelton buckets, while also learning various tools such as CAD and simulation software.
Project Type:
Academic Project @Department Of Mechanical Engineering, IOE,TU.
Objectives:
Learn design and analysis of turbines, specifically Pelton buckets
Gain proficiency in using CAD and simulation software
Methodology/Approach Used:
The project began with brainstorming and idea generation to conceptualize the design of the Pelton bucket, exploring various concepts and possibilities. Following this phase, the bucket was designed using CAD software to create detailed and precise digital models, ensuring accuracy and functionality. Once the CAD design was finalized, Ansys software was used to analyze the bucket's performance, simulating and evaluating factors such as fluid flow dynamics, and efficiency. Throughout the analysis, any identified issues or areas for improvement were addressed and refined to optimize the Pelton bucket's design for maximum performance.
